William E. Kocher, 88, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in his home.

He was born March 23, 1927 in Milan, Ohio, to the late Edward W. and Ida (Rummel) Kocher, and was a lifelong area resident.

Bill was a graduate of Milan High School, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Calvary Division, serving in Europe during World War II. After serving his country, he attended Oberlin Business College. He was employed as an accountant at the Lorain Steel Plant, then Rockwell Mfg. Co. Later he worked as a controller for Russell Trucking Company, and then as Manager of the Kiwanis Senior Center in Sandusky, Ohio. Bill was a member of Firelands Post #2743 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Norwalk, Ohio. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marilyn J. (Ruffing) Kocher, by 4 children, Ann (Michael) Krupp and Edward Kocher of Norwalk, Ohio, Barbara (Jeffrey) Johnson of Lyndhurst, Ohio, and Sarah (Emilio) Ramirez of Perrysburg, Ohio, 7 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.

He is also survived by his sister, Betty Swabley of Norwalk, Ohio.

There will be no calling hours. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Msgr. Kenneth Morman will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
