Kenneth T. Lilga, 92, Lakeside, OH, died on Monday, May 23, 2011, in Otterbein North Shore Retirement Community, Marblehead, OH.
He was born on October 16, 1918 in Buffalo, NY to the late Edward J. and Louise M. (Kobarg) Lilga, one of four brothers and two sisters.
He graduated from The University of Buffalo in 1940, and worked as a research scientist at Roswell Park Mem. Institute in Buffalo, NY. He helped produce TNT and uranium during WWII.
He was a Boy Scout leader, and helped maintain a 178 mile long hiking trail in western NY. After retirement, he moved to Lakeside, Ohio.
Kenneth is survived by his sons, Grant Lilga, Cedar Hill, MO, Eric Lilga, Utah; daughter, Myra Ummer, Lake Mary, FL; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Aug. 22, 2003, Joan S. Stevens, whom he married on April 8, 1985; his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
Private family services will take place. Burial will be in Acacia Park Memorial Gardens, N. Tonawanda, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O.
