Gary L. Barrett, Sr., age 69, of Sandusky, died Thursday, Dec. 17, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, following a lengthy illness.
He was born Nov. 22, 1946, in Inez, KY, and was a 1964 graduate of Perkins High School.
He was a retired employee of the Homan Transportation Co., and served in the U. S. Air Force during Viet Nam. He attended Sand Hill Freewill Baptist Church, and was a member of the Amvets, Eagles, and the Erie Co. Pool League, where he served as President for many years.
Gary is survived by his wife, the former Debra Grahl, to whom he was married for 42 years; one daughter Kelly (Dale Cruz) Barrett of Sandusky; one son Gary (Elizabeth) Barrett, Jr. of Berea; and two grandchildren Maddison and Braxton Barrett.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Marie (James) Barrett.
Friends may call from 6-8 PM Monday, Dec. 21, in Sand Hill Freewill Baptist Church, Mason Road, Sandusky, where services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, Dec. 22. Pastor Garry Sorrell, Jr. will officiate and burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery.
