Erma Dean (Short) Salisbury, 79, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully Monday, December 28, 2015 at Stein Hospice Care Center. She lived a good life filled with love, fought a hard fight and finished her race.
Erma was born on September 8, 1936 in Hazard, KY to the late Aldo and Dora (Sloan) Short and was raised in Mousie, KY.
After marrying her beloved husband, Clyde Salisbury, they moved to the Sandusky area, where they established their home and family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Erma lived her life for her family and friends, and loved to be around her children. She was known as Mamaw or Maw to most.
Erma attended the Sandusky Church of God, where she enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel music. Playing cards, going to Bingo and spending time with her family hold some of her fondest memories.
Erma is survived by her children, Walt (Marquetta) Salisbury of Castalia and Cindy (Damon) Brewer of Sandusky; grandchildren, Shawnda (Chad) Ramon, Derrick (Michelle) Salisbury and Katelyn Brewer (fiance` Chris Miller); great-grandsons, Madden and Rayden Ramon; step-great granddaughter, Taylor Malson and many other close family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Erma is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde in 2000; 8 brothers and sisters and several other family and friends.
Friends may call on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky with Pastor Harvey Studer Sr. officiating.
