Marilyn A. (Hagdohl) Smith, 81, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away early Friday morning, January 1, 2016, in Twilight Gardens Home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 21, 1934 in Norwalk, Ohio, to the late John A. and Holley M. (Kohlmeyer) Hagdohl, and was a lifelong area resident.
Marilyn was a member of the Port Clinton Church of Christ. She was a member of Firelands Post #2743 Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Marilyn was a former employee of Don's Coffee Corner, Hamilton Beach (Westinghouse), Good Samaritan Hospital, Sandusky, Ohio, and retired from A.C.M.I. (Wappler Instrument), of Norwalk, Ohio. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, playing Bingo, bowling, traveling, cooking and baking, and was a baseball scorekeeper for many years. Marilyn especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Carlyle E. (Dawn) Smith of Monroeville, Ohio, Janis A. (Dale) Perkins of Norwalk, Ohio, John A. (Tina) Smith of Monroeville, Ohio, and Cynthia E. (William) Allen of Monroeville, Ohio, by her former husband, Bernard E. Smith, by her grandchildren, Jeffrey Smith, Janette Smith, Scott (Shannon) Summerlin, Holley (Robert) Kurtycz, Jerod (Abbey) Smith, Brandon (Tina) Smith, Joshua (Alyssa) Smith, Megan (John) Elmlinger, Nathan Schaffer, Kyle (Krisy) Schaffer, Garren (Mary) Schaffer, and Nicole (Brock) Schafer, and by her great grandchildren, Alexandrea, Nicholas, Katelyn, Chloe, Silas, Angel, Alec, Lillian, Logan, Austin, John James, Ali, Leah, Christopher, Russell, Issac, Alexis, Bobby, Matthew, Kayli, Leighann, Aidan, Colby, and Kaylin. Marilyn is also survived by her brother, Douglas A. (Stella) Hagdohl of San Jose, California.
She was preceded in death by Freelin and Pearl Smith.
Friends may call on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Wayne Chasney will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk, Ohio.
