John N. Reed, 80, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016 in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio.
He was born January 29, 1935 in Elizabeth, West Virginia, to the late John W. and Flossie (Woodring) Reed, and lived in this area most of his life.
John was a mechanic in Norwalk for many years before starting his own business, Reed Automotive. He had a passion for Antique cars and was an active member of the Car Coddlers. John was also a member of Eagles Aerie #711, Norwalk, Ohio. He enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the summer and being with his family.
John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol L. (Goodenough) Reed of Norwalk, Ohio, by his children, John N. (Lori) Reed Jr., of Norwalk, Ohio, Cynthia L. (Thomas) Sparks of Milan, Ohio, and Christina L. (Mike) Bryant of Norwalk, Ohio, by his grandsons, Matthew Sparks, Tyler Reed, and Andrew Bryant, and by 3 great granddaughters.
He is also survived by his sister, Joann Caudill of Norwalk, Ohio and by his brother, Rodger "Bill" (Linda) Reed of New London, Ohio.
John was preceded in death by his son, Timothy M. Reed in 1959, and by his sisters, Dorothy Sanders, Patsy Scherley, and twins, Betty Brunn and Nettie Kiser.
Friends may call on Friday, January 15, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Joel Capizzi will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk, Ohio.
