Sondra S. Hotchkiss, age 71, of Sandusky, died Sunday, May 29, 2011 in the Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky following a brief illness.
She was born November 24, 1939 in Sandusky. She graduated from Sandusky High School in 1957 and then went on to graduate from BGSU with a teaching degree. Sondra taught Kindergarten and First grade in the Sandusky City Schools until the birth of her daughter, Nikki. After raising Nikki, she returned to work for Wal-Mart, where she retired. In her free time, Sondra enjoyed traveling to casinos and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter Nikki S. Hotchkiss, two grandchildren Scott and Amanda Hotchkiss; brother Charles Held; sister Debra Moore; and numerous nephews.
Sondra was preceded in death by her best friend and former husband Clyde Hotchkiss; parents Charles and Margaret (Gast) Held; and sister in-law Janet Held.
Private family services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 2:00 PM in Grove Street Cemetery in New London, OH.
