Thelma Loraine Hill, 87, residing in Huron, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 in the Meadows at Osborn Park following a lengthy illness.
She was born on March 27, 1928 in Portsmouth, OH to the late William McGlone and Ella (Rigsby) McGlone Lockhart.
Thelma was a licensed cosmetologist who owned her own business and eventually retired as the salon manager at JC Penney. She was also formerly employed by Philco and was a real estate agent.
Thelma was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was a dedicated member, and loved to witness over the phone. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, and jigsaw puzzles.
Thelma is survived by her son, Steven (wife, Sheila) Motry, of Sandusky; step-daughters, Diane (husband, Jim)
Comer, of Norwalk and Cathy Hill, of Sandusky; granddaughter, whom she raised as her own, Thelma
"T.J." (husband, Dylan) Sauer, of Tiffin; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Hougland and Lois "Jean" McGlone; brother, William "Bill" McGlone; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, William "Bill" Motry and Jird D.
Hill; granddaughter, Paula Renee Bean; sister, Shirley Pilliod; and brother, Russell McGlone.
Friends may call on Monday, January 25, 2016 from 5-7 P.M. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 1 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park. A luncheon will be served immediately following at the Toft Event Room.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Thelma's name to Kingdom Hall on King St. in
Sandusky.
