Eleanor M. Harkness, age 95, of Vickery, died Sunday afternoon, February 7, 2016, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born November 13, 1920, in Clyde, and graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1938. She was a member of Vickery United Methodist Church, Vickery.
She is survived by eight daughters Doris Janiszewski, Aurora, Mary Lou Napka, Vickery, Janet Hickman, Vermilion, Alice Harkness, Sandusky, Carol Pitsenbarger, Sandusky, Margaret Sharkey, Castalia, Sue (Leonard) Barnard, Castalia, Rebecca (Joe Zavla) Harkness, Brooks, KY; two sons John (Caroline) Harkness, Oak Harbor, and Robert Harkness, South Dakota; 21 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; sister Lucille (Kenneth) Henry, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Carl Harkness; two sons Thomas and James Harkness; parents Charles and Edith (Barr) Stout; and two brothers Leo and Donald Stout.
Friends may call from 10 AM until time of services at 12 Noon, Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, The Rev. Charles Odum will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
