Benjamin Darden, Jr., 63, of Sandusky, passed away early Saturday morning, February 20, 2016 following a lengthy illness.

Benjamin, affectionately known as "Ben," was born on March 14, 1952 to the union of Benjamin Darden, Sr. and Georgia Mae (Stewart) Darden.

Ben enjoyed "Jive Talking" with family and friends, grilling and cooking, listening to music, dancing, helping others, and skating in his spare time.

Ben is survived by his sons, Omar (Shea) Darden and Anthony King, both of Sandusky, and Alex (Charlotte) King, of Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Denise and Yvette Darden, both of Sandusky, and Debra Nelson, of Dallas, TX; brothers, Alphonso (Patrice) Darden, of Sandusky, and Michael (Jacqueline) Darden, of Tampa, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his grandmother, Magnolia Sizemore; grandfather, Frank Stewart; brother, Frank; and sister, Patricia Darden.

Friends may call on Friday, February 26 2016 from 11 A.M. until time of funeral services at Noon at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ben's name to his family, in care of the funeral home.
