John Alden Ehrhardt

Dear Lord up above, please give our Dad, Papa, Husband, Brother, Uncle and Friend our Love. We now have a guardian angel watching over us until we meet again.

John Alden Ehrhardt, 66, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with bladder cancer. He was diagnosed last Spring and fought as hard as he possibly could ever since. Dad can now rest peacefully as he is no longer in pain.

He was born May 22, 1949 in Sandusky. John was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in Vietnam. He is lifetime member of the AMVETS Post #17. John will be remembered as a gifted handyman who could fix about anything. Always lending a helping hand to family and friends with his many skills and talents. He always left his special touch on everything he came across. He was such a loving, caring family man, always doing nice things for his wife, children & grandchildren. He simply had a heart of gold. No words can describe how much he will be missed.

John is survived by his loving wife Lizette "Betty" (Cheatham) Ehrhardt of 44 years. He was the proud father of his 3 daughters, Jenny (Dan) Sharpe, Courtney (Randal) Adkins, and Beth (Dormayne) Carter. He leaves behind his 7 treasured grandchildren, Caitlin, Carter, Cameron Alden, Spencer, Corey, Kayla and K'mia, and his 2 great-grandchildren, Carson and Carley. He is also survived by his 2 brothers, Dudley (Linda) Ehrhardt, and Jerry (Dolly) Ehrhardt, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alden & Juanita (Jones) Ehrhardt of Sandusky.

Per John's wishes, there will be no services and cremation will take place. The family will have a memorial service that will be announced at a later date.

Dad, your life was full of loving deeds, forever thoughtful of our special needs. Today and tomorrow, our whole life through, we will always love and cherish you. This isn't goodbye, we will see you later on.
