Elizabeth Jane Mills, 78, residing in Norwalk, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, March 3, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Jane was born on November 13, 1937 in New London, OH to the late Harold and Fern (Bailey) Marett.
Jane was a 1955 graduate from Norwalk High School. She was a teacher's aide at Milan schools for over 20 years. Jane was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she loved being a volunteer for the church luncheons and enjoyed assisting with the weekly bulletin. She was also a member of the Norwalk Eagles. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, gardening, playing cards, dancing and spending time with her dogs. Jane was well known for baking extraordinary elderberry pies and her molasses cookies.
Jane is survived by her children, John (Deborah) Mills of Avon Lake, Linda (Thomas) Clark of Medina and Ronald (Anne) Mills of Birmingham, MI; grandchildren, Alexandra and Caroline Mills, Brittany Clark Tournoux, Caitlin and Shelby Clark, and Jolie and Giselle Mills; sisters, Mary Stoll of Milan and Alice Cochenour of Clyde; close nephew, Curt and his wife, Tammy Stang and their children, Amanda, Anthony, Allison and Adam; special friend, Elwood "Woodie" Springer of Fremont and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford P. Mills and her brother, Ray Marett.
Friends may call on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 9:30 am until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 am at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 243 Benedict Ave., Norwalk with Pastor Ann Marshall and Pastor Fred Weichers presiding. Final resting place will be in Milan Cemetery, Milan.
