June Faye Meyer, 88, of Sandusky passed away late Sunday evening, March 6, 2016 in the Providence Care Center, Sandusky following a brief illness.
She was born May 5, 1927 in Elyria and later moved to Sandusky where she lived the rest of her life.
She was a 1945 graduate of Sandusky High School and was a very active member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Sandusky. June was a homemaker and had volunteered at Care and Share. She enjoyed sketching. She loved photography and had worked at Mound's Studio where she added color and life to photographs. She also enjoyed card club with friends and helped organize her class reunions. June loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters.
She is survived by one daughter, Sue (Dale) Kennedy of Sandusky; one son, Stephen (Nanette) Meyer of Rossford; two granddaughters, Krista (Kevin) Hartung of Sandusky, Karen Kennedy of Rocky River; two great grandchildren, Zach and Hallie Hartung; one brother, Dan Tremaine of Sandusky; one sister in law, Margaret Close of Castalia; and one brother in law, John Newman of Castalia, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew E. Meyer, Jr. in 1999, whom she married on June 22, 1951, and her parents, Bob & Corinne (Hackett) Tremaine.
Friends may call Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 4-7:00 PM at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky and also on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM in the Trinity United Methodist Church, 214 E. Jefferson Street, Sandusky. Pastor Douglas Winner will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
