William S. "Bill" Buker, 71, Huron, died Sunday, March 27, 2016, at his residence.
He was born on July 17, 1944 in Cape May, New Jersey.
He was employed as a firefighter for Mount Vernon, OH, and then retired as a Battalion Chief of the Columbus Division of Fire in 1995 after serving for over 30 years.
Bill loved to hunt and fish.
He is survived by his companion of 25 years, Pat Warner, Sandusky; sister, Jean Robinson; brothers, John Buker, Scott Buker, and Jim Buker; nephew, William "Neville" Cumming; niece, Joy Cumming; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace D. and Nancy (Berry) Buker; and brothers, Bob Buker and Wallace R. Buker.
There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be conducted at a later date. Memorial contributions in Bill's name may be made to Ohio State Firefighters Association, P.O. Box 400, Columbus, OH 43212 or to Ohio Division of Natural Areas and Preserves, 2045 Morse Rd. Bldg C-4, Columbus, OH 43229.
