Frank Robert Penca, 94, of Sandusky and formerly Euclid, Ohio, died Monday, March 28, 2016 at Parkvue Healthcare Center.
Frank was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 20, 1921 to Frank and Mary Penca.
He graduated from East Technical High School before serving in the U.S. Army during WWII. After his time in the service, he graduated from Fenn College and became employed by Fisher Body in Cleveland where he worked in the design department for forty years.
In 1953 he married the love of his life, Katherine Galinac, and they spent many happy years traveling throughout the United States and abroad until her death in 2008. Frank was active in General Motors retiree groups as well as various Slovenian and Croatian fraternal organizations and lodges. In 2013 he moved to Parkvue Place in Sandusky. Frank was a true gentleman known for the kindness and good humor he showed everyone he met.
He is survived by his beloved nephew, Jeffery (Karen) Ghezzi of Sandusky. Also surviving are his nieces, Marilyn (David) Lonsdorf of Verona, WI, Carol (Bill) Holley of Marietta, GA, Lori (Chris) Uguccini of Kent, OH; nephews, Michael Chohaney of Tampa, FL and Emil (Eleanor) Galinac of Concord, OH; and nine great nieces and nephews.
In addition to Katherine, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Victoria Bozeman, Regina Chohaney and Helen Ghezzi.
There will be no visitation and cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Cleveland. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
