Gerald C. Didion passed away peacefully on March 29, 2016 at age 90.
Jerry was born in Bismark, Ohio in 1925, one of ten children.
He attended Norwalk St. Paul high school where he met Irene, his wife of 63 years. Together, Jerry and Irene raised five children. He was an inspiration for his daughters and his son as they pursued college and their careers. Jerry worked independently as a builder for 50 years. Later in life he was remodeling and working on projects for friends and his children's businesses and homes. Jerry enjoyed fishing, playing cards and socializing with friends and family. He was active in numerous fraternal organizations, including the Norwalk Elks Club, where he served as Exalted Ruler for two years. He lived his life to the fullest and took pride in his independence and family along the way.
Jerry was predeceased by his wife Irene and is survived by his children, Linda (John) Fantauzzo, Nancy (Jerry) Kramer, Judy (Paul Belazis) Didion, Jerry (Aimee) Didion and Kathy Didion; nine grandchildren Stephanie (Derek) Johnson, Johnna Fantauzzo, Ashley (John ) Ferguson, Scott (Missy) Kramer, Thomas, Katie and Michael Belazis and Hannah and Stephen Scheramic; and four great grandchildren Sofia and Lucia Johnson and Colin and Ian Ferguson. He is also survived by his two sisters Wilma (Didion) Hammersmith and Connie (Didion) Hipp.
The family wants to thank all the friends who supported him after our mother's passing. He loved his Norwalk friends and never wanted to leave the home he built and the community he served.
A funeral mass celebrating Jerry's life will be held at Norwalk St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, on May 21, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.
