Elect Lady Dorothy L. McGee, 65 of Sandusky, awoke in the presence of the Lord on April 5, 2016, surrounded by her endless love and husband, Pastor Luther McGee, Jr. and her four children. Our hearts are kindled while remembering the love infused life and legacy of our Elect Lady Dorothy L. McGee.
Our Lady was born on January 5, 1951 in Casa Grande, Arizona to her loving parents Lillie Mae and James Harris. She received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, in May 1970.
Elect Lady McGee was passionate about teaching young women how to be ladies and how to assist their husbands in ministry. Teaching the young ladies of today how to conduct and respect themselves as women of God was her ambition and she used the word of GOD as her tool.
Those left to forever cherish her love, sense of humor and laughter, husband, Luther McGee Jr., who on the 5th day of May 1969 Elect Lady McGee married. They began their courtship after being playground rivals, and have been together ever since. To their union was born Tracy (Simone) Ellis McGee, Michael Christopher (Karissa) McGee, Stephanie Lynn (Jeffery) Ward, and Andrea La-Sha (Robert) Jones; grandchildren Alan Michael, Melina Rene, Marcus Ryan, Nicholas Jeffery, Cameron Robert, Nathaniel Christopher, Christian Ryan, Nolan Anthony, Marianna Grace, Charlize Renee, and Mathias Abner; siblings Gina (Everett) Dennis, Tasha Johnson, and James (Ruelena) Johnson; God children, Kyle Tucker, Charity Graham, and Chelsea Graham; a host of aunts, several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; her childhood friend Shirley Jones, and close friends, Mother Annie Lee and Susie McCutchen.
Our Lady was preceded in death by her parents and her grandchildren Marianna and Mathias McGee.
Friends may call on Saturday, April 16, 2016, from 11 A.M. until time of her Homegoing services at 12 P.M. Noon in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky. Dr. Gregory Heathman will officiate, and Supt. Willis Williams will provide the eulogy. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
