Linda Lou (Andrews) Brunow, 79, of 1423 Hollyrood Rd., Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 14, 2016 in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
She was born on February 5, 1937 in Groton Twp. at Honey Corners to the late Darwin and Elsa (Leber) Andrews.
She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1955 and worked for Sandusky City Schools as the high school cafeteria manager for 35 years, retiring in 2011.
Linda was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Sandusky. An extremely active member, she taught Sunday School for 40 years, served on the Christmas Decoration Committee for 30 years, and served several terms on church council. She was an advisor for the Sandusky Urbanities 4-H Club, a Campfire Girls Leader, and Director of the Erie County Fair Board for 46 years. Linda was always baking. She could also sew, and made matching outfits for her children. She enjoyed putting family trips together, including camping trips, Memorial Day Weekend Cedar Point trips, and "Andrews sister days" with her sisters. Linda loved Santa Claus -she had a collection of 150 Santas, and her love of Christmas and compassion for others was shared through her time spent acting as Mrs. Claus.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Richard G. Brunow, whom she married on September 17, 1955; daughters, Cindy (husband, Jim) Cremean, Pam (husband, Dan) Baker, Jackie (husband, Mike) Cremean, and Melinda (husband, Eric) Ruschak; 10 grandchildren, Sarah Baker, Nick Baker, James (wife, Katie) Cremean, Michael (wife, Kim) Cremean, Bryce Cremean, Nathanael Cremean, Brienne Cremean, Britana Cremean, Karastin Cremean, and Brock Cremean; two great-grandchildren, Zoey Baker and Avery Cremean; sisters, Luetta Prout, Pat Vassallo, Bonnie Shelley, and Katie Shelley; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Denver Andrews and Anna Marie Stegman.
Friends may call on Monday, April 18, 2016 from 4-8 P.M. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, and again on Tuesday from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Pastor Ralph Schibler will officiate. Immediately following the funeral, all in attendance are welcome to join the family for a luncheon in the church basement. A procession to Sand Hill Cemetery will take place at 1:30 P.M. for burial.
