Dorothy L. Moltz, 86, residing in Norwalk, Ohio died early Saturday morning at the Gaymont Nursing Center surrounded by her loving family following a lengthy illness.
She was born on January 7, 1930 in Clyde, Ohio to the late Edward and Edna (Reister) Weyer. Dorothy resided in Castalia, Ohio until 1987 and following the death of her husband made her home in Norwalk, Ohio.
Dorothy was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. She and her husband Carl were avid antique collectors and enjoyed many years frequenting auction sales, participating in antique shows and flea markets and sharing their knowledge and love of antiquity with many others in the Castalia, Sandusky and Norwalk communities. She always enjoyed reading, cooking and spending time wither family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Powers of Orlando, Florida; two sons, Ken (Sally) Moltz of Norwalk, Ohio; and Dave Moltz of Castalia, Ohio; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Including her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Carl B. Moltz, her grandson, Heath Moltz, one sister, Marie Steinhour, and seven brothers, Julius Weyer, Alvenius (Barnie) Weyer, Leroy Weyer, Chester Weyer, Raymond (Spike) Weyer, Milton (Mick) Weyer and Sylvester (Sy) Weyer.
Friends may call on Friday April 29, 2016 from 4-7PM in the Groff Funeral Home and Crematory 1607 E. Perkins Ave. Sandusky, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday April 30, 2016 at 10 AM in the Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael Roemmele will officiate. Burial will follow in Castalia Cemetery.
