Charles James Cole passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 28, 2016, in his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born to the late Charles W. and Beatrice C. (Miller) Cole on January 30, 1944 in Norwalk, Ohio and was a lifelong area resident, residing in the Norwalk and Milan areas.
Jim graduated from Norwalk High School in 1962, and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked at Kuhlman Machine Company, taught machine trades at EHOVE Joint Vocational School and retired Tenneco Automotive, Inc., Milan, Ohio, in 2006. He was a member of the Milan Baptist Church, and enjoyed woodworking, working on cars, and spending time with his family.
Jim is survived by his children, Robert and Karen Strimple, of New Kent, Virginia, Rhonda and Jeffery Geason, of Milan, Ohio, Jeffery and Regina Cole, of Macedonia, Ohio, and Michelle and Michael Popa, of North Fairfield, Ohio, and by 9 grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife Diana "Sue" Cole in 2013, and by his sisters, Helen Lavine, and Carol (Lou) Claeys.
Friends may call on Monday, May 2, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Milan Baptist Church, 5199 Old State Road, Milan, Ohio 44846, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Rodney Hollen will officiate. Interment will be in Milan Cemetery.
