Winifred F. (Christian) Gulbransen, 80, of Sandusky, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 in Stein Hospice Care Center.
She was born on May 16, 1935 in South Braintree, Mass. to the late Frederick and Theresa (Rogers) Christian. She was a homemaker, raising eight children, and spent time working as a waitress. She enjoyed going to casinos. However, family was most important, and she absolutely cherished her time spent with her entire family.
Winifred is survived by her children, Susan (Jerry) Hunt, and Wayne Rhuda, both of Sandusky, Bernard (Deborah) Rhuda, of Holbrook, Mass., Sharon Bailey, of Scottsdale, Ariz., David (Denise) Rhuda, of Lake Whales, FL, Cheryl (Tom) Lyons, of Monroeville, Warren Rhuda, of Castalia, and Linda (Gary) Kalizewski, of Norwalk; 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Gertrude Mills, Dee Dee Bernasconi, Cathy Cullinane, and Jackie Christian, all of Mass., and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman R. Gulbransen; a granddaughter, Melissa Randles; and brothers, Henry, Alan, and Wilfred Christian.
Friends may call on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 12 (Noon) until time of funeral services at 1 P.M. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. At Winifred's request, cremation will follow and private inurnment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Winifred's name to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
