Clifford E. Smith, 80, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio.
He was born January 29, 1936 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late Leon and Verna T. (Bick) Smith and was a lifelong area resident.
Cliff was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. He retired in 1998 from Oglesby (Hug) Construction Company, and was a member of Eagles Aerie #711. Cliff enjoyed woodworking, attending St. Paul High School sporting events, and was an avid race car fan.
Cliff is survived by his children, Vickie (Mark) Beatty of Norwalk, Ohio, Jodi Nickoli (John Brant)of Norwalk, Ohio, and Jackie (Robert) Fuller of Akron, Ohio, by his grandchildren, Kurtis Beatty, Daniel Beatty, Matthew Nickoli, Drew Nickoli, and Dustin Myers, by his great grandchildren, Haley, Aubryn, Mason, Logan, and his great granddaughter soon to be born.
He is also survived by his brother, Milton (Lois) Smith of Norwalk, Ohio, and by his companion, Vonda Spiegel of Norwalk, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally A. Smith in 1997, by his brothers, Alvin Smith, and Carlton, Smith, and by his sister, Janet Groff.
Friends may call on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Paul Schreiner will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
