Mary Verena (Riedy) Hauser

Mary Verena (Riedy) Hauser, 90, residing in Berlin Heights, passed away early Thursday morning, May 12, 2016 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mary was born on December 18, 1925 at Weyer Station in Castalia, OH to the late Leo S. and Verena (Weyer) Riedy.

Mary attended St. Mary's High School and was a 1943 graduate from Huron High School. She was employed at the former New Departure and retired in 1991. Mary was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a former member of the American Legion. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and going to flea markets.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Carol Bloomfield of Berlin Heights and Mary Anne Hauser of Sandusky; sons, William H. Jr. and Ronald L. Hauser both of Sandusky; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Rose Danchisen of Port Clinton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, William H. Hauser; brothers, Norman, George, Melvin and Glenn Riedy; and son-in-law, Paul Bloomfield.

Friends may call on Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. A prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 am on Monday, May 16, 2016 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
