Cathy J. (Hawkins) Patrick, age 64, of Norwalk, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2011 after a long illness with her family by her side.
She was born July 5, 1946 in Bellevue to Richard and Catherine Hawkins. She was a graduate of Bellevue High School and Saint Joseph Hospital School of Practical Nursing in Lorain, OH. She was married to John Patrick in 1967.
She was a Deacon at the First Presbyterian Church in Norwalk and enjoyed singing in both the church choir and with the Sweet Adelines. She enjoyed all things patriotic, collecting Americana and was an avid traveler to destinations both foreign and domestic. She was fond of her 1957 Chevy Bel-Aire. She enjoyed a lengthy career in nursing, both working in a surgical unit as well as a private medical practice. She also worked as a service provider later in life with Christie Lane Workshop.
She is survived by her husband, John D. Patrick of Norwalk; daughter, Carrie Patrick of Norwalk; and son, Brian Patrick of Hamler, OH; four grandchildren, Samantha, Amelia, Spencer and Autumn; siblings, Richard Hawkins Jr., George Hawkins, Janice (Hawkins) Wetzel and James Hawkins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Hawkins Sr. and mother, Catherine Hawkins.
Friends may call on Monday from 5 – 8:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral service will be Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Adrian Doll, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial at Collins Cemetery and a luncheon to follow at the First Presbyterian Church.
