Daniel L. Baker, 62, of 608 E. Washington St., Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 16, 2016 in University Hospital, Cleveland.
He was born on May 15, 1954 in Sandusky to Joan (nee Kaufman) and the late Richard L. Baker.
Dan graduated from Sandusky High School in 1972. He was a 20 year, career U.S. Navy veteran, and after being honorably discharged Dan worked for Lorain County JVS as a computer specialist.
Dan loved computers, fishing and boating, darts, pool league, and bowling. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
Dan is survived by his wife, Pamela Baker, whom he married on Dec. 8, 1979; children, Jason (Melissa) Baker, Heather Fox, Sarah Baker, and Nicholas Baker; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Tessa, Drew, Bailey, Ty, James, Ryan, and Zoey; mother, Joan Lapchynski; siblings, Deborah (Robert) Williams, Diane Case, David Baker, Doug Baker, Denise Taylor, Darla Baker, and Amy Fuller; beloved dogs, Beau, Maxie, and Molly; and many other family members and friends.
In addition to his father, who passed away on Sept. 6, 2004; he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Linda L. Brunow, on April 14, 2016.
Friends may call on Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 4-8 P.M. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. An additional visiting time will be on Friday from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Monte Kaufman will officiate. Burial will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery where military honors will be provided by both the U.S. Navy and The American Legion Post 83 Color Guard.
