David K. Kovach, 62, of Norwalk, Ohio, was taken by God, May 29, 2016 after a battle with brain cancer at Cleveland Clinic, surrounded his loving family.

He was born August 17, 1953 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late Martin K. and Thelma M. (Ott) Kovach, and was a lifelong area resident.

David was a 1971 graduate of Norwalk High School. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #711, and retired in 2014 from the Wheeling Lake Erie (WHLE) Railroad with 42 years of service. David enjoyed hunting, golfing, camping, and fishing on his boat. He loved the outdoors and working outside.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Aleta L. (Ashley) Kovach of Norwalk, Ohio, by his sons, Nicholas (Alison Levato) Kovach of Dayton, Ohio, and Brian (Amy O'Donnell) of Cleveland, Ohio, by his sisters, Sharon (Richard) Gross of Norwalk, Ohio, and Lynn (Jeff) Snyder of Atlanta, Georgia.

David is also survived by his nephew, Scott (Tonya) Gross, by his niece, Lori (Aaron) Ortner, by his great niece, Annabelle Ortner, and by his great nephews, Douglas Ortner, and Griffin Gross.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma in 2010, and by his father, Martin in 1995.

Friends may call on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Paul Schreiner will officiate.
