Barbara R. Kromer, 80, of Sandusky, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 17, 2016 at The Meadows of Osborn Park surrounded by her loving family.
Barbara was born on August 26, 1935 to the late Robert and Dorothy (Platt) Winters.
Barbara graduated from Margaretta High School in 1953. She retired from the former Firelands Hospital after 15 years of service and was previously employed at the American Crayon Company and Perkins local schools. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening, and crafts. She was very talented in her hobbies and enjoyed showing her beautiful flowers and sharing her crafts with those around her. She passed on her love of those things to her children and grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Cynthia (Kyle) Roth, Craig (Cindi) Kromer, Douglas Kromer, Anthony Kromer, and Libby (Joseph) Wobser; 15 grandchildren, Marcie Roth, Jessica (Wes) Scott, Kyle D. Roth, Zachary (Heidi) Roth, Kelly (Chad) Van Sickle, Kristen (Tony) Schaefer, Keri (Travis) Bechtel, Bryan Kromer, Jared Kromer, Courtney Kromer, Kelsey Kromer, Ryan Wobser, Cameron Wobser, Justin Wobser and Dustin Sinwald; 2 step grandchildren, Kenneth Whitcomb and Amber Justi; 20 great grandchildren; brother, Bruce Winters and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by 4 brothers, Robert, Theodore, William, and Ronald Winters.
Friends and family may call on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 4 to 7 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky. A prayer service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 am in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky with Father Joe Steinbauer officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
