James W. Ferguson, 78, Sandusky, died Friday, June 24, 2011, at his residence.
He was born on November 7, 1932 in Sandusky.
He was employed by various service stations as a mechanic and also worked for Firelands Regional Medical Center.
Jim served in the National Guard.
He was a longtime member of the Sandusky Eagles #444 where he went through the chairs and was just elected trustee, and also served on the Board of Recreation for the City of Sandusky.
He is survived by his wife, Donna (Reigle) Ferguson, to whom he was married 59 years; daughter, Monica (Robert) Reeves, Sandusky; daughter-in-law, Christina Ferguson, Sandusky; grandchildren, Kristy (Kevin) Ferback, Nickie (Andrew) Ward, James Reeves, and Robert G. (Ashley) Reeves; step-grandchildren, Tiffany Reeves and Samantha Reeves; thirteen great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Hasenmeier, Vermilion, OH; and brothers, John (Shirley) Ferguson, Vermilion, OH, and David (Linda) Ferguson; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James William and Agnes (McGory) Ferguson; son, Robert Ferguson in 2009, and a grandson in infancy, Robert A. Ferguson.
Friends may call on Monday, June 27, 2011, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Sandusky Eagles #444 will hold memorial services at 7 P.M. Monday in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home with the Rev. Marty Nassr officiating. Entombment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
