Hedy (Hedwig Papenfuse) Todd, 79, of Sandusky, died Friday, September 3, 2016, at her residence, surrounded by family and loved ones.
She was born on April 10, 1937 in Sandusky to the late John and Hedwig (Kolletschke) Papenfuse.
Hedy graduated from Sandusky High School in 1955, Providence School of Nursing in 1958, and attended BGSU Firelands. She worked as a registered nurse at Providence Hospital until her retirement in 1996.
Hedy was a member of First Faith Community Church, where she was secretary of the Women's Morning Group, she was also a member of the Nurse's Alumni of Providence Hospital/F.R.M.C. for over 50 years.
She is survived by her husband, whom she married April 12, 1958, Edward Todd; son, David (Sandy) Todd, Sandusky; daughters, Diane (Lyle) Heberling, Columbus, OH, and Debra Todd of Sandusky; six grandsons; three step- granddaughters; fourteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Elnora Wilken, in 2009, and Betty Neiding, in 2011.
Friends may call on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, from 6-8 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, and on Wednesday from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11 A.M. in the funeral home. Pastor John Apple will officiate. Burial will follow in Perkins Cemetery.
