Robert "Bob" Casanova

Robert “Bob” Casanova, 83, Sandusky, died on Saturday, July 9, 2011, in the Stein Hospice Care Center.

 

He was born on January 27, 1928 in Bismarck, OH.

 

Bob was retired from Foster Chevrolet, Sandusky, after 28 years, and also worked for Philco and the former Don Everett Pontiac.

 

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sandusky.  Bob was an avid golfer, shooting a hole-in-one on three different holes at Sawmill Creek; he was secretary of his golf league for ten years. He loved gardening - especially his tomatoes, and the New York Yankees.

 

He is survived by his wife, Delores “Lolly” (Paris) Casanova, to whom he was married 64 years; sisters, Eunice Ries, Sandusky, and Erma Martin, Tucson, AZ; brother, Charles Casanova, Okeechobee, FL; sister-in-law, Julie (Paris) Baird, Sheffield Village, OH; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aloysius and Amelia (Raufeisin) Casanova; sisters, Eleanore Schettine, Annamae Cullin, and Martha Jennings; and brothers, Donald Casanova and Aloysius Casanova Jr.

 

Friends may call on Thursday, July 14, 2011, from 11 A.M. until Mass of Christian burial at 1 P.M. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky.  Rev. David Nuss will officiate.  Burial will take place in Scott Cemetery, Huron.  Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870, or to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
