Ronald E. Baum, 75, residing in Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, November 28, 2016 at Firelands Regional Medical Center.
Ronald was born on November 20, 1941 in Bellevue, OH to the late Harold G. and Angela M. (Juliano) Baum.
Ronald owned and operated Northwest Ohio Distributing, retiring in 2003 from the trucking and distribution industry. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1961-1965. Ronald was a member of the Seneca Muzzle Loaders, the Black Powder Re-enactment Club, the Black Swamp Air Force Kite Club and the Bass and Walleye Anglers Club of Northern Ohio. Other than being an avid Buckeyes fan, Ronald enjoyed fishing, woodworking, camping and spending time with his family and friends.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Judy (Prescott) Baum, whom he married on December 22, 1978. He is also survived by his daughter, Melissa A. Baum of Sandusky; sons, Andrew J. (Kim Taylor) Baum of Sandusky, Patrick P. (Rayna Strider) McNeely of Pataskala, OH, Sean D. (Joette) McNeely of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and Bart K. (Lissette) Barna of Vermilion; grandchildren, Nina, Caleb, Abby, Annabelle and Brik; brother, Bumper Baum of Bellevue; sister-in-law, Patricia Baum of Sandusky and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by his brother, John A. Baum; sister, Bonnie K. Lucas; brother-in-law, Donald Lucas; daughter-in-law, Eileen (Noon) Baum and grandson, Edward James Baum.
Friends may call on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 4:00 pm until the time of funeral services at 7:00 pm followed by military honors with the American Legion Honor Guard at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky.
