Glen E. Long

Glen E. Long, 66, of Sandusky passed away early Tuesday morning, December 6, 2016 at his residence following a lengthy illness.

He was born March 14, 1950 in Canton, Ohio and moved to Sandusky at the age of 18.

Glen received his GED through Sandusky High School. He retired in 2013 from Akro Mills.

He enjoyed building, repairing and riding his Harley Davidson. Glen was a family oriented man, that could generally be found in his garage fixing something. He loved fixing and watching his grandson Anthony ride his mini bike. The family always knew if they needed him they could always count on "Uncle Glen". Once you met him you knew you had a friend for life. He was a great father, grandfather, husband and uncle, who was loved by many. Glen was a member of Perseverance Lodge No. 329, F.&A.M., Amvets Post 17 and the Erie Riders. He also admired the "Outlaws".

He is survived by two daughters, Jami Long and Kari (James Smith) Long, both of Sandusky; five grandchildren, Anthony "Diggy", LaDarius, Lisa, Amareah and Ellie; two sisters, Sharon Grunden and Pat Long; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa (Mischler) Long; his parents, Ira and Bessie (Kirkman) Long, Sr.; two brothers, Ira Long, Jr. and David Long.

Friends may call Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 12:00 PM until time of funeral service at 1:00 PM at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. The Rev. Jerald A. Fenske will officiate.
