Jeffrey P. Jones Sr., 57, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Sunday morning, December 11, 2016 at Firelands Regional Medical Center.
Jeffrey was born on January 15, 1959 in Port Clinton, OH to Preston Lee and Elsie (McDavitt) Jones.
Jeff was a veteran of the US Navy serving from 1977 until 1981. He was employed as the quality planner at Bettcher Industries in Vermilion for the past 14 years. He was an avid Detroit sports fan, and enjoyed golfing. Jeff was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and step-father who enjoyed traveling with his wife, riding his Harley and spending time with his family and friends.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Shelley (Tigges) Jones. He is also survived by his mother, Elsie Jones; children, Jeffrey (Jessica) Jones Jr., Michael (Kerry) Jones, Jamie Nicole, Monica Jones, Suzanne (Ryan) Barth and Suzette (Aaron) Wiechman; 18 grandchildren; step-children, Kimberly Baum, Tyler Tigges and Dylan Tremaine; sisters, Cyndi (Bob) Kraft and Kathy (Joe) Dobek; brother, Gary (Jean) Jones and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his father, Jeffrey is preceded in death by a sister in infancy.
Friends may call on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 10:30 am with Jeff Jones Jr. and Enice Harris co-officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
