Michael T. "Mike" Bressler, of Sandusky, died Thursday, December 29, 2016, at Concord Care & Rehab Center with Stein Hospice after an extended illness.
He was born on September 19, 1946 in Metamora, Ohio to Roland "Whitey" Bressler and Victoria "Vickie" (Wotring) Beatty.
Mike was a 1964 graduate of Sandusky High School where he participated in football, swimming, and track. He was a U.S. Army Reserve Veteran and a member of US Power Squadron, the Communication Workers of America, and a past-president of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Mike worked 36 years in telephone repair and installation. He enjoyed spending time with family, watching Ohio State football, boating, reading, and walking his dogs (Alfie).
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judith "Judi" Trautman; father, Roland "Whitey" Bressler, Sandusky; step-father, Karl "Tubby" (Yvonne) Beatty, Sandusky; sons, David (Elizabeth) Bressler , Willow Springs, IL and Steven Bressler, Dublin, OH; a granddaughter, Brynn ,Willow Springs, IL; brothers, Richard (Val) Bressler and Timothy (Pam) Bressler, both of Sandusky; sisters, Janette McGrain , Canton, GA and Patricia (Sayed) Badreya, Santa Monica, CA; step-brother, Cary (Roberta) Krueger, Lorain, OH, as well as many nieces, nephews, and additional relatives.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2211 Mills St., Sandusky. Visitation will be from 10AM until time of memorial services at 11:30AM. Rev. Merlin Jacobs will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Erie Co., 1911 Superior St., Sandusky, OH 44870.
