Carol L. McCall, 62, of Huron died peacefully on December 28, 2016 after a courageous battle with ALS.
Carol was born December 26, 1954 in Sandusky, OH to the late Bernard and Anna (Storey) Barringer.
She was a 1973 graduate from Sandusky High School and attended the Sandusky School of Practical Nursing, where she received her RN degree from the Providence School of Nursing. She retired from Firelands Regional Medical after serving for over 25 years - most of them in Labor and Delivery.
She was an avid fisher, loved hiking, dancing and music and above all, spending time with her family and friends at her favorite place, Kelleys Island.
Carol is survived by her husband of 40 years, Mike McCall; her daughters Katie (Chad) Fisher and Molly (Austin) Bauman and her beloved three granddaughters, Morgan, Macy and Maya; sisters, Jeanne Emch and Mary Kay; brother, John (Diane) Barringer; in-laws Ann (Dale) Cerney, Julie Petche, Mary Zuk, Emmy (Paul) Prado, Nick (Karen) McCall and Shelly (Terry) Horning and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Carol's strength, faith and courage throughout her illness were an inspiration to many. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the many wonderful caregivers who loved Carol so well as well as Stein Hospice and the ALS Association.
Friends may call on January 2, 2017 from 9:30 am until the time of memorial services at 11:30 am at The Chapel, 4444 Galloway Rd., Sandusky with Pastors Chad Fisher of Rock City Church in Hilliard and Dave Brown of The Chapel officiating. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.
