Ollie Ann ‘Cookie' (Norris) Johnson Alexander, 75, residing in Vermilion, OH, left this earthly life on Sunday, January 1, 2017, in Mercy Medical Center after a brief illness.
Ann was born September 4, 1941 in New London, OH to the late John Henry and Sue Ellen (Asbury) Norris.
Ann resided in Sandusky and graduated from Sandusky High School in 1959. She attended Central State University and retired after 24 years from New Departure Hyatt.
She was ordained in the African Methodist Episcopalian (A.M.E.) church in 1995. She was a long time member of the Ohio Order of the Eastern Star and Advisor for the Lucy Amos Chapter 34 of the Girls Assembly.
She was an ardent traveler and collector of unique miniature shoes. Her purest joy was being a servant of the Lord, and her greatest passion was cooking and spending time with her extended family and friends.
She is survived by her sisters Jennifer Raye (Norris) Washington of Sandusky, OH, and Barbara Nichelle (Reiman) Rouse of Woodlawn, CA; her six children Kendall Perry (Dulce) Norris of Hendersonville, TN, Cherene Renee Norris of Louisville, KY, Kevin Joseph and Keith John Johnson of Columbus, OH, Kurt James of St. Matthews, KY and the Rev. Kristopher Jason (Laura) Johnson of Louisville, KY; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Alexander; her uncle and aunt, Edward Pershing (Ann) Norris and Aurelia (Jack H.) Norris Young.
Private family viewing will be held. Home going services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Eagle's Nest International Church, 2126 Pipe Street, Sandusky, OH at 11 A.M., with her son, the Rev. Kristopher Johnson presiding. Private burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
