Joseph C. Zimmerman, 82, of Bellevue, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011 at The Willows at Bellevue. He was born March 19, 1929 in Bellevue the son of John J. and Florence (Reigner) Zimmerman.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Eagles Aerie 490, American Legion Post 46, Sandusky Am-Vets, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1238, and Bellevue Elks Lodge. He was employed as an industrial electrician at NASA Plum Brook, and also co-owner of J & J Electric. He loved playing cards, casinos and college football.
He is survived by his wife, Christina (Hedrick) Morrow Zimmerman, whom he married February 15, 2007 in Bellevue. Also surviving are his son, Joseph J. (Sarah) Zimmerman of Sparta, KY, daughter Theresa (Rick) Hiser of Castalia; grandchildren, Jessica (Nick) Bartley of New Albany, Chad (Erica) McGuire of Sandusky; and great grandchild Stella McGuire; brother Lawrence F. Zimmerman of Sandusky, sisters, Agnes Dyczkowski of Norwalk and Mary Mathias of California. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, John Zimmerman and George Zimmerman.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 231 East Center Street, Bellevue.
