Nicholas J. Duganiero, 69, residing in the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 2, 2017, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.
He was born in Toledo, OH on December 13, 1947, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era.
Nicholas was a member of the DAV and loved motorcycles and mustangs.
He is survived by his mother, Pearl (Phillips) Duganiero, Sylvania, OH; siblings, Joseph (Diane) Duganiero, Canton, OH, Mary Ann (Tim) Henry, Toledo, OH, Anthony J. (Kim) Duganiero Jr., Bright, IN, and Palma (Richard) Wisniewski, Sylvania, OH; best friend, Doug Pratt, Sylvania, OH; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Anthony J. Duganiero, Sr.
The family would like to thank Nick's best friend Doug for his long friendship with Nick, and for the countless hours he spent with him at the hospital praying with him, and supporting the family.
Friends may call on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, from 12:30 P.M. until time of military services at 1:30 P.M. in the Ohio Veterans Home, Giffin Chapel, 3416 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow in the Ohio Veterans Home Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, or to the Ohio Veterans Home Resident Fund.
