Scott D. Hughes, 54, residing in Huron, passed away Saturday evening, February 11, 2017 at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Scott was born on April 5, 1962 in Sandusky, OH to Lynn Hughes Sr. and Esther R. (Hemmer) Hughes.
Scott was a 1980 graduate from Sandusky High School. He was employed as a foreman at Miller Pipe Line in Hillard, OH for over 25 years. Scott was a member of Victory Temple Church in Sandusky and the Orioles Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, sporting events, playing basketball and spending time with his family and friends.
Scott is survived by his father, Lynn Hughes Sr; companion, Buffi King; brothers, Lynn Jr. (Desiree), Joe (Malissa) and Chris (Kelly) Hughes; nephews, Dustin, Brandon (Brea), Derrick, Dominic, Jacob and Caleb; nieces, Jesicca (Richard), Karley and Rachael; great-nephew, Carson and great-nieces, Lucie and Haizley.
Scott is preceded in death by his mother, Esther in 2013.
Friends may call on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Friends may also call on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 9:30 am until the time of funeral services at 10:30 am at Victory Temple Church, 1619 W. Strub Rd., Sandusky. Pastor Luke Walters will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
