Marilyn L. Smith, 64, of Sandusky passed away suddenly Thursday afternoon, February 16, 2017 in the Firelands Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
She was born June 15, 1952 in Sandusky and was a 1970 graduate of Sandusky High School.
In June of 1971 she married her sweetheart Alfred. Marilyn was employed as a secretary at Vulcan Materials until 1976. She was an active member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ where she had served as the memorial chair person. Marilyn was a quiet and shy person who had a big heart for everyone, her family, friends and all her little dogs whom she loved to go on walks with.
She is survived by one daughter, Meredith (Sam Greenman) Holman of Sandusky; one brother, Kenneth (Jody) Hahn of Sandusky; son in law, John Holman of Sandusky; brother in law, Lauren (Georgianna) Smith of Vermilion; sister in law, Karen (Tom) Quinn of Columbus; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of special friends.
She is preceded in death by her soulmate and love of her life, Alfred and her parents, Lowell and Vivian (Darrow) Hahn.
Friends may call Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 9:00 AM until time of funeral service at 12:00 PM in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Pastor Wayne Brockway will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
