Genevieve M. (Nause) Wammes, 86, residing in Sandusky, passed away Monday evening, February 20, 2017 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center after a brief illness.
Genevieve was born on February 28, 1930 in Helena, OH to the late Clarence J. and Gertrude A. (Bauer) Nause.
Jenny attended Millersville, Clyde, and St. Ann's schools and graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1948. Before and after graduation she worked at the Henry Frey Company in Fremont until her marriage and then was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing crafts, playing cards and flowers..
Jenny is survived by her husband, Raymond L. Wammes, whom she married on September 3, 1949 . She is also survived by her brothers Merle of Renton, WA, Bernard of Fremont and Vernon Nause of Richfield, OH.
In addition to her parents, Jenny is preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Ann Wheeler and one in infancy and brothers, Marcus, Clarence Jr., and Dale Nause.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Father Joe Steinbauer will officiate. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
