Leonard J. Stevens, Sr., 59, of Sandusky, passed away early morning, Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Firelands Regional Medical Center.
Leonard was born on August 25, 1957 in Castalia, OH to the late Orrville and Dixie (Mullins) Stevens.
Leonard was a 1975 graduate of Margaretta High School and worked as a Welder at the Industrial Powder Coating for 17 years. Later in life, he was accepted the Lord and was baptized at Second Chance Baptist Church. In his spare time, Leonard enjoyed playing his guitar, barbecuing, and fishing. He loved being around people and had the most fun when he was surrounded by his family and friends.
Leonard is survived by his loving wife, Gayanne (Bowers) Stevens; daughter, Jennifer Gilbert of Florida; son, Leonard J. Stevens, Jr. of Sandusky; 4 step-children, Anita, Fletcher, Thomas and Marshall, all of Michigan; 5 grandchildren, Brenton, Melinda, James, Alexis and Elliott; sister, Alice Bortschi of Michigan and nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives.
In addition to his parents, Leonard is preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Orshoski.
At Leonard's request, cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
