José "Joe" Villalon Jr.

José "Joe" Villalon Jr., 74, of Marblehead, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, surrounded by his family.

Joe was born on November 17, 1942 in Edcouch, Texas.

On June 20, 1968 in Port Clinton, he married Guadalupe (Livas) Villalon, and she survives.

Joe, a loving husband, father and doting grandfather courageously battled Multiple Myeloma for nearly 8 years.

Joe graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1962 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force 1963-1967. He was an Airman 2nd Class and served in the Vietnam War. He was a machinist at Fenner Dunlop for 38 years and retired in 2007. Joe was a U.S. Coast Guard licensed charter boat captain and owned and ran Miss Behavin' fishing charters on Lake Erie.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Homer D. Gardner Post #2480 and a member of The American Legion Commodore Denig Post #83. Joe was an expert angler and master gardener. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family; especially fishing with his grandsons.

Other surviving family members include his daughters, Patricia (Stephen) Wisnefski, Cranford, NJ and Erica Villalon; grandsons, Maximilian and Leo Wisnefski and Alexander Wolf; brothers, Hector, Rogelio, Oscar and Gilberto Villalon; sister, Josephine Villalon Peña. Additional surviving family members are from the Below, Livas, McCann, Ramos, Schultz, and Villalon families.

He is preceded in death by his only beloved son, José J. "Jay" Villalon; father, José
Villalon Sr.; brother, Ricardo Villalon and sister, Martina Villalon Martinez

Joe requested no services.
