Muriel Charlotte Lieb

Muriel Charlotte Lieb, 92, of Sandusky, passed away at home on Saturday morning, March 4, 2017, following a lengthy illness.

She was born on September 23, 1924 in Chicago to William and Hazel (Adams) Pretzer Sr.

Muriel was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

She deeply enjoyed her family, especially the interests of her grandchildren. She was active in spending time with her granddaughters' interest in horses, and also enjoyed the docks in downtown Sandusky, as well as going for scenic drives around the area. Chicago always held a special fondness in her heart. With her sweet tooth, she enjoyed Toft's Dairy and Berardi's pies frequently. She was devotedly religious, compassionate, and was attentive to the latest fashion and hairstyles.

Muriel is survived by her two daughters, Beverly (Thomas) Bartels of Sandusky, and Carol (Bill) Lehr of Oak Harbor; six grandchildren, Beth (John) Brinkman, James B. Mitchell, Jillian (Aaron) Stokes, Keith Bartels, Jake Lehr and Stephanie Lehr; three great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Including her parents, Muriel is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Lieb, in 1998 and her brother, William Pretzer Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 9th 2017 at 11:00 am in Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, Ohio. The Rev. Phil Gardner will officiate. Burial will follow in Perkins Cemetery. The Groff Funeral Home and Crematory in Sandusky are handling the arrangements for the family.
