Willie B. Young 84, of Sandusky, died after a lengthy illness on March 8, 2017, in Our Lady of Peace Hospice, St. Paul, MN.
She was born on April 1, 1932 in Waynesboro Mississippi.
She moved to Sandusky married and had four children.
She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. Her love of music and singing gospel songs and reading the scriptures were joys of hers all the way leaving us. She worked and retired from General Motors-New Departure Hyatt/Delphi and was an active member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church, which included being a choir member and on the Mothers board before becoming ill and moving to Minnesota where she received twenty-four hour care from her loving daughters over the past dozen years.
She is survived by her brothers, Arthur Jordan Sr. and Emerson Jordan; sisters, Airy B. Blakley, and Vietta Smith, all of Sandusky, OH; her daughters, Willie Jean Young, Loretta (White) Young, and Beatrice Young, all of Minneapolis, MN; her son, DeWayne (Chandra) Young of Sandusky, OH; granddaughter, Kiera Stevenson of Sandusky OH, Shantavia Young and Tamika White of Minneapolis MN; great-granddaughter , Alayah Stevenson of Sandusky, OH; and a huge host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and family members from Sandusky, OH and many states across the country.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alphonso and Ola (Whigham) Jordan; husband ,Oreasin (Hot) Young; brothers, Jim Jordan, Robert "Jack" Jordan; sisters, Elouise (Duke)Evans, Mattie B (Bay) Jenkins and Leola (Lobe)Butler; and grandson, Samuel L Caffey III.
Friends may call on Friday, March 17, 2017, from 7-9 P.M. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory 2001 Columbus Avenue Sandusky. Homegoing services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 12 P.M. Noon in Providence Missionary Baptist Church, 224 Dixie Ave. Sandusky. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
