Peg "Keating" Garvin, 87, living over 20 years at Viewpoint and a lifelong resident of Sandusky, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017, in Stein Hospice Care Center from complications, resulting from a head injury.
A 1947 graduate of St. Mary's High School and Sandusky Business Women's College, Peg was a devoted loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Peg enjoyed the beauty of living on Cedar Point Chausee, long walks on the beach, fishing and the early days of Cedar Point Amusement Park. She volunteered thru her life for Serving Our Seniors, Firelands Hospital Auxiliary-Recipient of the "Women of Excellence" Award, Kelleys Island Fund Raising events, Make-A-Wish Foundation, American Red Cross, Providence Hospital, Ohio Veterans Home, Elks Club, American Heart Association and many more. Peg worked many years at Drug Mart and was a loyal member of the "McDonald's" morning coffee group, where friendships were many and treasured!
Peg was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Richard "Dick" Garvin, whom she married October 1, 1955, 62 years; daughter, Barbara (Joel) Feyedelem; grandson, Ian; nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Richard "Rick" Garvin in 2012.
The "Garvin" family would like to thank all of the dedicated medical staff and Stein Hospice for the loving care that they have shown. There will be no services and cremation has taken place by Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.
