Anita M. (Walker) Lewis, 60, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 14, 2017 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.
Anita was born on June 11, 1956 in Norwalk, OH to the late Robert and Pheriba (Downing) Walker.
Anita started as a photographer, nearly 40 years ago, at Lifetouch Photography, formerly known as, Olan Mills, before working her way up to a district manager. She was a member of The Chapel North Campus and was very passionate about her work with Compass Ministries. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
Anita is survived by her daughter, Geneva (Jimmie) Burns of Sandusky; son, Rick (Tami Fields) Sullivan of Sandusky; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Brenda (Frank Najmi) Abaza of Toledo and Julie Walker of Sandusky; brother, Timothy (Tonja) Walker of Toledo and many loving nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives.
In addition to her parents, Anita is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Frances Downing and aunts, Wanda Robinson and Della Beckham.
Friends may call on Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
