Mildred A. (Marshall) Mickles, 71, of Sandusky went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday March 13, 2017 in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio.
She was born Mildred Marshall on January 29, 1946 in Rydal Georgia and was 7th of the 8 children born to Coleman and Bertha Marshall. She moved to Sandusky at the age of 8 and attended Perkins City Schools. She was employed at Saginaw Wire in Norwalk Ohio for many years.
On July 24th, 1971 she married Samuel Mickles. She was a proud and faithful Member of the Providence Missionary Baptist church where she served as First Lady for 22 years, Sunday School and Bible Study teacher, Mothers Ministry, Missionary Choir, Youth Ministry Advisor and she was very active in the Ministers Wives & Widows Association and United Church Women. She loved to share the word of God with all those she came in contact with and to encourage them to believe in Gods Word.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of forty five years the Rev. Samuel Mickles, two sons Michael and Daryl Mickles of Toledo Ohio; daughters; Patrice Arnold and Vowanda Knowles of Toledo Ohio, Tonya (James) Turner and Shirley Brown of Sandusky and the son she raised Tyrell Jones, brothers; Coleman (Anita) Marshall and Wille (Pat) Marshall; God Children; Dr Scottie and Holly Aaron, Her special friends Mary Amison, Everline Cook, Pastor Tommie Stallings; her brothers-in-law and special sister-in-law; her spiritual brothers, sisters and children of the Providence Missionary Baptist Church and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Edward Marshall; sisters Mattie Brown, Lucy Irby, Lillie Sheppard, Maggie Josephine Golden, and daughter, Sharon Copeland.
Friends may call on Friday, March 17, 2017, from 11 A.M. until time of Home Going Services at 12 P.M. Noon in Providence Missionary Baptist Church, 224 Dixie Ave., Sandusky. Dr. Scottie L. Aaron, Friendship Baptist Church, Columbus, OH will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
