Ricky Lee Gilbert, Sr., 52, of Sandusky, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 in Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.
He was born on January 12, 1965 in Sandusky to the late Franklin and Lucille (Morrison) Gilbert.
He attended Sandusky High School and worked for American Crayon and other jobs, mostly as a painter.
Rick loved to fish, watch football and NASCAR, and be outdoors, especially walking his beloved dog, Angel. He was most proud of being "Paw Paw" to his grandson.
Rick is survived by his wife, Pam (Griggs) Gilbert, whom he married on November 8, 1986; sons, Keith, Kurtis, Ricky Jr., and Brandon (fiancé', Paige Clark) Gilbert; grandson, Dawson (with Landon on the way); brother, Franklin Gilbert; sisters, Julie (Wayne) Finlay, Rose (Jeff) Killingsworth, and Rhonda Chill; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Stephen Chill.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. on Monday, March 20 until time of funeral services at 12 p.m. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.
