David A. Wolshuck, 78, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.
He was born on November 27, 1938 in Sandusky to the late Raymond J. Wolshuck and the late Mary L. (Atwood) Wolshuck.
A 1956 graduate of Fremont High School, Dave was an accomplished high school athlete, lettering in football, wrestling, and track. H attended Purdue University on a football scholarship.
Dave worked for the Coca Cola Bottling CO., Cedar Point, and retired from the City of Sandusky as the Water Superintendent. He coached junior high track for many years, and taught several water treatment operator classes.
Dave was a lifetime member and founding board member of the Maritime Museum of Sandusky. He was also a member of the American Water Works Association and the Sandusky Sailing Club. In retirement, he spent his summers on the lake, supervising C.P. marinas and later crewing on local cruise ships.
Dave is survived by his son, John (Debbra) Wolshuck, of Milan; daughter, Jackie (Dan) O'Loughlin, of Sandusky; grandchildren, Nathaniel (Christy) Wolshuck, Ashley O'Loughlin, Andrew O'Loughlin, and Jonathan Wolshuck; great-grandchildren, Abrianna and Vincent Reeves and Alexander and Maxx Wolshuck; and cousins, Mary Jane Kraak, of Fremont, and Thalia Krynock, of Appleton, Wisconsin.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his wife, whom he married on January 19, 1958, Lois A. (Burton) Wolshuck, on February 4, 2017.
At Dave's request, private family services will take place followed by cremation.
